We just wrapped up Winter Holidays and this month we will learn about Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

This month we will study President's Day with the main focus on Abe Lincoln
and George Washington.
March 2011
Our next Social Studies unit is on Mapping. We will learn how to read a map,
how to use a map, and how to make a map. We will study different types of
maps from the globe to the map of the U.S. We will kick off the unit by
reading Flat Stanley. Then we will mail Flat Stanley to friends all over the
United States. As he returns, we will track all of the places he visited.
I will also provide an introduction to the 7 continents and the oceans.
