Traveling Teddy is our class teddy bear accompanied by a journal that goes
home with each child for a weekend, and BROUGHT BACK TO SCHOOL THE
FOLLOWING MONDAY!!!! The bear is supposed to accompany the student in all
weekend activities, except the bath/shower and getting real food on him!!
Parents are supposed to write about each activity and I will read the
journal excerpt to the rest of the class on each Monday morning. The kids
totally look forward to reading about Traveling Teddy's adventures and
whomever took him home sits amoung peers on the rug, listening proudly to
every word to make sure it is the correct account of what happened. Also,
the child who took him home gets to hold him in their lap while I read. The
schedule for Traveling Teddy will be posted as soon as I get a complete
class list and be listed from the end of the alphabet down to the
beginning.
