Reading Incentive/ Family Activities

Seeds of Summer!!!

Before students left school for the summer, this reading incentive program was sent home. Students were encouraged to keep reading over the summer months and fill out paper watermelons with their names. On September 9th, we will have a WaTeRmElOn PaRtY to celebrate those students who completed this project! Students will have their pictures taken and their watermelons will be displayed on a bulletin board near the LRC.
 
Upcoming Reading Incentive activities:

October: Falling for Books

We will send home a note asking families to pick their favorite story to share at home. Students will write their name, the name of the story, and the author on a leaf (sent home with the note). The leaves will be added to our Reading Tree bulletin board, located near the LRC.
