All students may audition for a part in the school play. After auditions, students who are cast will participate in theater games and activities, rehearse lines, learn stage directions, and HAVE FUN! All students earning a role will perform in two evening shows in November. Additional opportunities may exist for students to have hands-on opportunities with stage crew responsibilities (i.e., lights, sound, sets)

Students will participate in a variety of games and activities to improve their endurance and their ability to work as a team. They will participate in 2 timed mile runs with the goal of improving their time.

Homework Club is designed to assist students in completing homework assignments, plan for long-term projects and to reinforce reading strategies, which are the foundations of learning. If students do not have a specific homework assignment, then hands on activities and games related to reading strategies will be introduced.

A fun way to learn about other countriesand their traditions is through their art. Students will create 6-7 projects unique to different cultures and historical events. Come join us in making an African mask, Aboriginal art, Greek mosaic, and much more.
Recipes For Measurement
4th-5th Boys and Girls

Students will practice the skills of measurement as we work cooperatively to follow, mix, and prepare recipes. each class will provide the opportunity for a specific measurement skill and a student prepared snack. Ending with our Intermediate Cupcake Wars on the Final Day!

Harry Potter Club

10 Sessions of a variety of activities related to the Harry Potter Book Series. Most activities reinforce reading and other academic content. We also include physical education through our participation in a replicate of quidditch. The teams participate in cooperative learning activities that earn points for the culminating Feast of Houses.

Around the World in 8 Days

Students will participate in a variety of academic activities related to countries around the world. Each day, we will read a new book, complete a puzzle, and solve problems related to the country being studied. This social studies enrichment club reinforces reading skills, problem solving, and is FUN!

Throughout the 8 days, students will learn a variety of Wildcat-themed sports cheers. Each day, we will learn cheer formations and practice a new sideline cheer. The group will also learn 2 jumps and 2 stunts. Tumbling, team building activities are included. Cheer exhibition for the parents is the culminating activity.

Irish Dance

Fourth and fifth grade students are invited to learn how to Irish Dance. Students will learn the basic jig, and then use those steps to create their own unique dance to show parents on the final day!
The Adventures of a Wimpy Kid

Reading, discussion, writing, and art activities based on the content from the popular book series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by author Jeff Kinney. Games will be created and cartooning will be practiced to enrich reading comprehension.
Improv Acting
4th-5th Boys and Girls

In this class, students will learn how to improve their stage presence, confidence in front of the room, and vocal clarity! Students will be learning improvisation games in which they will have to do problem solving and think quickly on the spot. Either scripts or poems will be used to learn how to memorize lines and perform with others. The last day of class is always a performance for family and staff.
***Each of these events meets after school and requires a signed parent permission slip. It will be the student’s responsibility to listen for announcements during the school day about when permission slips are available for each activity, and to obtain the appropriate information for the activity. After school activities generally occur on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:30. Students MUST be picked up in a timely fashion, and may be excluded from activities if they are picked up late.
