My name is Sarah Ziegler. This is my twentieth year as a teacher. My
experience at Woodland Intermediate School is two-fold. I was a Math
Specialist for five years before deciding to put in for a voluntary transfer
for a position as a classroom teacher on the Purple 5th East team, which is
now the Cheetah 5th team. This year, 2011-2012, will by my seventh year
teaching Math and Science.
Prior to my years at Woodland, I taught sixth grade math at Effingham
Junior High School for six years and sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math
at Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School for two years.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in
Education, with a 6-9 grade math endorsement. I obtained my Master's Degree
in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University.
I have been married to my husband, David, for nineteen years. We have
two daughters. Rachel is a tenth grader at Warren Township High School and
Ruth is five and a half years old and starting Kindergarten at Woodland this
year.
I team teach with Mrs. Amy Werner. She will be your Language Arts and Social
Studies teachers. I teach two classes of Challenge Math, which is made up of
students from Cheetah Hall. I teach two Science classes to my homeroom and
Mrs. Werner. I am very excited about this upcoming school year!
