March 8th, 2011
Dear Parent or Guardian,
As the Civilization Project comes to an end on March 22nd
our team will be having an “Ancient Civilization Feast” from 8:00-9:00
a.m. On this day students who
chose to make an authentic dish from their ancient civilization will be
bringing in food in the morning.
Students who chose to complete different portions of the student choice
projects will be given a chance to eat food from the ancient times.
Students who are bringing in food are required to have their
food at the Middle School by 7:30.
They are also required to list all ingredients in their dish on a note
card with the name of their food.
This note card will be on display in front of the food for all students
to see what they will be eating.
Students will also need to bring in serving utensils and appropriate
utensils for students to try their foods (i.e. plates, spoons, cups,
napkins…etc).
All students will be going to the cafeteria for the “Feast”
on March 22nd. Please talk with
your child before this day to remind them of foods they are allergic to or
foods you would prefer them not to eat.
I am also going to extend extra credit out to the students
during Civilization Night Open House on Tuesday, March 22nd from
6:30-8:00. If a child dresses up
as a person from their ancient Civilization, I will award that student 2.5
points extra credit. If they bring
a family member dressed up as well, I will award an additional 2.5 points extra
credit. Please make sure all
clothing is appropriate for a school environment.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help us during the
“Feast.” If you would like to
volunteer your time on this day from 7:30-9:00 please send a note with your
child to indicate so. If you have
any other questions or concerns regarding the “Ancient Civilization Feast”
please call me at 847-856-3778 or e-mail me at rwollberg@dist50.net. Thank you for all of your help
throughout the Civilization Project.
I look forward to seeing you March 22nd for the Open House.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wollberg
