How will my childs grade be determined in Applied Practical Arts?

Students final grade in Applied Practical Arts is based on the completion of
the two required projects.

These projects are:

6th Grade- Oven Racker and Extention Cord

7th Grade- Key Racker and Extention Cord

8th Grade- Birdhouse and Electrical Boards (the number of completed and tested
boards determines the students grade)

* A- 7 Boards completed and tested

* B- 6 Boards completed and tested

* C- 5 Boards completed and tested

* D- 4 Boards completed and tested

* E- 3 or less Boards completed and tested

* Note Any incomplete projects will be recorded as a zero.

Any completed extra credit projects as well as student behavior in the class,
performance of the students clean up responsibilities and proper following of
the safety rules will be a factor in the students final grade.

Do all students get to take APA?

Most 6th and 8th grade students are scheduled to be in APA unless they are
assigned an additional reading or math class or are in full year Spanish.
7th grade students are scheduled in APA only if they were assigned the APA CAD
class as a 6th grader.

If my child is behind in class, when can they come in for additional help?

They should get a pass from Mr. Spata to be used during academic advisory on
Tuesdays and Thursdays. They need to request the pass the day before the
advisory they plan on attending.

Is my child allowed to work on their projects at home?

Unfortunately all of the students work must be done in class. If the projects
were allowed to be taken home I would have no way of knowing if it was done by
the student.
