What if I don't know what supplies to bring for class each day?

Outside of Mrs. Selders' classroom is a dry erase board, which lists all of
the supplies needed for each day's class. You must check that board before
class so that you are aware of what you are required to have- it changes EVERY
DAY!

What if I don't know what the homework is?

Homework is always written on the Homework Calendar. It should also be
written in your assignment notebook every day since we fill it out together at
the end of class. You can also check Mrs. Selders' Homework Hotline number!

What if I'm confused and don't know what to do for a major project?

For every project or larger assignment that Mrs. Selders assigns, there is a
requirement sheet that goes along with it, explaining EXACTLY what is expected
of you. Each requirement sheet goes through the specifics of what you need to
do for that particular project, as well as explains the details you need to
know in order to do well on the project. ALWAYS use the requirement sheets to
do well on your projects and big assignments!

What if my homework is late?

If you do not have a homework assignment in on time, you have until the
following Monday to turn it in for half credit- otherwise, it's a zero!
For major projects, you will lose a considerable amount of points each day
(points vary depending on the value of the project) that it is late!
But... receiving some points for a late assignment is better than a zero, so
TURN THINGS IN! Or better yet, TURN THINGS IN ON TIME! :)

What if I was absent?

First thing when you return, check the Absent Work folders by the Homework
Calendar. They are organized by day of the week that you missed and have all
necessary handouts and information you will need. Then check with Mrs.
Selders for more details.
You always have the amount of days you missed + one to make up your work if
you had an excused absence.

importantly, respect yourself, your teacher, your peers, and all property in
Social Studies class!

effort!

What if I'm nervous about the Civilizations' Project?

DON'T WORRY! The 6th grade Civilizations' Project starts around November and
is spread out over 4 months. Mrs. Selders has organized it so that it should
not be overwhelming and will be a fun & exciting project for you!
