EDUCATION: I was a long-time resident of Libertyville,IL and graduated not
only from District 70 schools, but also from Libertyville High School.
Since then, I have obtained...
*a Bachelors' Degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign
*an Education Degree (K-9, with endorsements in Social Studies and Language
Arts)from Trinity International University, Deerfield
*a Masters' Degree in Curriculum and Education from Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale
WOODLAND EXPERIENCE: This is my 7th year teaching at Woodland Middle School.
I have been on the same Lynx House team as Mr. McCabe (Science) and Mrs.
LaPorte (L.A.) since I started here!
PERSONAL INFORMATION: I have been married for over 6 years to my husband. We
also have a wonderful 3 year old son, Kolton... and who can forget our crazy
cat, Kyndall?!? Kolton is a VERY ENERGETIC (and quite adorable!) little guy
who definitely brightens up even the best days when I get home from school!
If you have been in my classroom, you know I LOVE my family, frogs, the
Chicago Bears, and (of course) my beloved Illini!
My goal is to make Social Studies more relevant, fun, and interesting for
every 6th grade student. Each day, I try to help the students create a meaningful
connection to what they have learned in class.
