I have been a social studies teacher at Woodland Middle School since 2003.
I have a bachelor's degree in history and in secondary education
from Lake Forest College. My master's degree is in teaching and leadership
from St. Xavier University.
History is my passion! Most of my hobbies involve some historical aspect.
It has been an interest of mine ever since I was young. For example, one
thing I like to do is travel to historical and presidential homes.
I also love to sew, go to movies, eat popcorn, cook, and read. In fact,
check out my favorite book list.
My husband and I were married in June, 2005. A fun fact about us is that we
met at Woodland Middle School when he was the science teacher on my team.
Now he is the science department chair at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa
(www.mrprosise.com). He earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern
Illinois University, a master’s from St. Xavier University, and
completed his second masters in administration through Concordia University. We have a son
named William who was born in March 2010.
I was born in Dover, New Hampshire and have a large family in Maine. I grew
up in Libertyville and attended Butterfield Elementary, Highland Junior
High, and Libertyville High School. Another fun fact about me is that our
principal, Mr. Snyder, was one of my eighth grade teachers!
