WELCOME TO WOODLAND SINGERS!!!

Letter Coming Home, Practice Tracks, Contest
WE NEED YOU!!!
A letter is coming home with your Singer this week requesting help on February 13th. Solo & Ensemble is a HUGE event and Woodland has a reputation for being a first-class host. If you and your child can give us just a few hours of your time, we are sure to continue our tradition of excellence! Even if you are unavailable on Saturday the 13th, consider Set-Up on Friday. (an early release day for students. We'll begin set-up right after school,) or Baking for the Bake Sale.
The Letter explains the different job descriptions and the shifts that need to be covered.
Please return the
Bright Green Form by
Friday January 29th.
If a form doesn't make it home, you can download one from the "Handouts" link on the Left.
If you have any questions, please contact Miss Buehlman.
Thank you in advance for all your help!
Practice Tracks
Our Opener and Closer for Contest are now posted! As soon as I have original copies from the publisher, I can send home the practice copies.
Feel Free to start practicing now!!! :)
CHOIR GRADING
As you know, choir is a graded class. If you check Skyward, I have been posting grades for choir by the week. Check the FAQ section for how I work the points. I try to update the grades weekly, but they will always be at least a week behind because I wait a week before marking absences as "unexcused" to allow time for parents to call the office and for the absence to clear through the Skyward system.
Just a friendly reminder, if a singer is not feeling well, but is still in school, they are expected to be at rehearsal, even if they are not singing. It it much easier for them to "jump back in" if they have been listening and following along.
Also, being a graded class, if another teacher has asked your child to catch up on work during Advisory time when they have Choir, that teacher must contact me to work out that make-up time. Just as a teacher wouldn't pull a student from Math class to make up a Social Studies test, it is not fair to the student to pull them from Choir class without trying to work out an arrangement that will be least disruptive to their progress in both classes.
