My name is Lisa Rogers and I am very excited to be here at Woodland Primary.
This will be my fifth year at Woodland Primary. I also have received my
Masters in Teaching in the summer of 2007 from National-Louis University. I
have also continued to take education graduate courses to keep up on current
teaching topics.
I currently live in Vernon Hills with my husband and two children. My
children, Brad and Melanie, are in high school in Vernon Hills.
I believe in creating a very positive and nurturing environment in which
children can feel safe to learn. I have two sayings in my room: "DO YOUR
BEST" and "I AM SMART". I expect nothing but the best from all my students.
As far as rewards, students can work together as a class to earn marbles
towards rewards. Students can also work as an individual to receive a "happy
gram" for outstanding work effort or behavior for any particular day. I
believe in rewarding the positives.
I am very excited for this year to begin and to meet all parents and
students. Your child will change so much from the beginning of the year to
the end of the year. I will help them grow in the best possible way that I
can.
