I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, where
I majored in psychology and minored in music and history.
My elementary license was earned from Calumet College of St. Joseph in
Whiting, IN.
I am an accomplished violinist, guitarist, and drummer. Some hobbies I like
are recording music, woodworking and fishing.
This past summer I was able to continue my formal education at Indiana
Wesleyan University by taking 6 credit hours of coursework. The classes I
took focused on motivating students and techniques of creating an interesting
classroom environment. I'm excited to be implementing the new knowledge and
strategies that I learned this summer.
In 2007 and 2008 I applied for a BP A-Plus for Energy grant. Both years our
school was awarded with $5000 to use in the classroom to educate students
about solar power. With the $10,000 we were able to purchase and race solar
powered model cars on a track that the students helped construct. We also
were able to examine the differences between conventional energy production
and solar power. We invited a local nursing home to watch the race each year
that we held it.
This is my fifth year teaching in this awesome learning environment.
