Code of Conduct

Rules and Procedures

In order for this year to run smoothly for your child, there are three very simple rules that he/she must follow. These rules are also used throughout the school so there should be plenty of reminders on what is expected of your child.

Respect:

Ex. 1) When the teacher gives attention signal, stop, look, and

listen to directions.

Ex. 2) Always speak and act positively of one another.

Responsibility:

Ex. 1) Have all materials ready at the beginning of class

(i.e. homework, textbooks, notebooks, laptop computer should be fully charged).

Ex. 2) Complete and turn in all assignments on time.

Readiness:

Ex. 1) Students are ready to positively participate in class.

Ex. 2) Students will demonstrate proper behavior on field trips.

Rewards: Students will be rewarded for doing above and beyond what is expected of them. Some example rewards might be as follows: stickers, school supplies, positive phone call/note home, lunch with teacher, or free time to read or work on computer.

Citizenship Grade: Citzenship grades will be given on a daily basis. Students will begin each morning with a grade of 100%. Each time a student breaks a rule, a loss of 5% will occur to their grade. For example, if a child has 3 infractions they would have 15% taken away from their grade, resulting in an 85%. A conduct chart will be kept on a daily basis and will be passed to all special teachers as well.

Please sign and return the bottom portion of this page to acknowledge that you have seen the rules and intend to assist us in helping make this year a spectacular and productive one.
