My children and I moved to Newburgh during the summer of '85 to be
closer to my parents, and I began teaching language arts at GSS in the
fall of 1985. Since I came to GSS, I helped start the practical arts
program, which is one of the best "extras" that we have for our upper grade
students. I also started the first Cooks' Camp at Good Shepherd School in
2007, and it has been a wonderful summer camp experience for our students! On
August 5th, 2010, I became a first time grandmother to a beautiful little
girl, Lily Madelaine Mitchell!
I am currently teaching part time, so be sure to check my weekly
schedule if you wish to set up a phone or personal conference with me while
I am at school. I am looking forward to working with your child in my
classes and getting to know him/her better.
Based on the song "Blessings" by Laura Story, my classroom mission this year
is for my students to focus on all the ways they are blessed as well as their
special prayer requests. All of these are displayed on small crosses on the
bulletin board in my classroom.
