About The Teacher

Mrs. Shirley Cronauer currently teaches kindergarten at Our Shepherd 
Lutheran School.  She graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, 
Nebraska with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.  Mrs. Cronauer 
has a major concentration in Early Childhood Education, a minor emphasis in 
Speech/Drama, and is devoted to her work with young children.  She 
currently holds an Indiana teaching certificate and regularly attends 
classes and workshops, such as the Annual Conference for Indiana 
Kindergarten Teachers, to stay current with educational practices that 
foster success in learning for her students.  Her family background consists 
of a family of teachers, including two sisters that are kindergarten 
teachers and a father that retired after serving 40 years in the teaching 
ministry.  She has been an early childhood educator since 1986, with the 
exception of six years, when she had the privilege and joy of staying home 
to raise her son.  When she is not teaching, Shirley enjoys spending time 
with her family and doing things they love such as:  traveling, cooking, 
reading, gardening, playing games, riding bikes, and walking.  Mrs. Cronauer 
resides with her husband and son in Hendricks County.

I believe that every child is a special gift from God and that each one is 
equipped with a unique potential for spiritual, intellectual, physical, 
social, and emotional growth.  I will strive to help each child in this 
developmental process within a setting of Christian love, acceptance, and 
nurturing.
