Indiana's Academic Standards for 11th Grade English/Language Arts:
11.3.1 Analyze characteristics of subgenres, types of writings such as
satire, parody, allegory, and pastoral that are used in poetry, prose,
plays, novels, short stories, essays, and other basic genres.
11.7.18 Deliver oral response to literature that:

literary works and make assertions about the text that are reasonable and
supportable.
