Kindergarten: Jim Dine Hearts SWBAT identify artwork made by Jim Dine, paint with tissue paper and
learn about and utilize oil pastels to create a Jim Dine style piece of art.
1st: Matisse's Pizza: SWBAT recognize a collage and create their own pizza collage using cut paper and
fabrics as well as paper mache for building a crust. SWBAT recognize objects created by a graphic
designer and design their own pizza box.
2nd: Jasper Johns Three Flags: SWBAT identify work by Jasper Johns and re-create their own version of
Three Flags using a randomly drawn country's flag as inspiration.
3rd: Beasts of the Sea by Henri Matisse: SWBAT create art using only scissors as their drawing tool, much
like Matisse.
4th: Ice Cream! Tints and Shades: SWBAT create an ice cream cone using painted tints and shades of one
color.
5th: Color Study: SWBAT mix their own colors using only the 3 primary colors and create a painting that
explains the color spectrum visually when using 3-D glasses.
6th: Realistic, Objective, and Non-Objective Art: SWBAT distinguish realistic art, objective art, and non-
objective art.
7th: Fresco: SWBAT create their own "Last Supper" drawing

8th: Self-Portrait: SWBAT edit their self-portrait photo in picnik (photo editing website) and replicate
that photo in a painting using grid method to draw accurately.
