Fifth-Grade Classroom News
We are off to a good start in fifth grade this year. In math we have started working on place value and will continue to work on number sense as it is a new math goal throughout the school. I continue to remind the students to work carefully and always check their work after completing it.
Motion and design is the first science unit this year. The students have already completed one design challenge and will continue to work on using vehicles they build. They will time their vehicles and see how much of a load they can move in a specified amount of time.
Appreciating God's creation and reflecting upon it is how we have started the year in religion. As we work our way through the year we will learn about the sacraments and how they help us grow in grace. As we get closer to the new liturgical year we will learn about the mass and the changes in prayers that are coming.
