Sixth Grade: Jacob has fled his homeland to live with Uncle Laban and find his true love in Laban's daughter Rachel.
Jacob shows devotion and strength to work 14 years to have her as his wife.
This is a great example of devotion that we have for another person and mostly one we can have with God Father and
His Son.
God also shows us in this story that you can thrive and follow his plan at the same time.
We cannot always understand where God is taking us or why.
Seventh Grade:
Matthew's Gospel has so much to offer this age. Chapters 5 through 7 covers a multitude of lessons.
The students will make a poster representing one of the sections. (pride, revenge, promises, prayer,
giving)
We have watched a video on St. Vincent De Paul made in 1947/black and white/ English subtitles.
The students found much to be thankful about and who the truly poor can be and what we can do to help them in an
extraordinary way. This fits in with our discussion on giving.
Luke Harongody and Tim Andres (ND Basketball players) were speakers for 7th Confirmation class. They inspired the
students to know it is ok to show and live your faith as an athlete and the importance of attending Mass as often as you
can.
Eighth Grade:
We have watched a video on St. Vincent De Paul made in 1947/black and white/ English subtitles.
The students found much to be thankful about and who the truly poor can be and what we can do to help them in an
extraordinary way. This fits into our discussion of giving.
