I am originally from Michigan. My parents still live there in Davison,
MI (near Flint). Throughout my childhood my family moved quite a bit and I
have lived in several places including Luxembourg, Europe, and Tokyo,
Japan. I graduated from Genessee Christian High School (in Burton MI) and
attended Bethel College where I graduated with a degree in Mathematics and
Physics Education. I have since added a General Science certification to my
teaching license.
After graduation I managed the Nelson's Grill store in the Town and
Country Shopping center. After that store closed I subbed in Mishawaka and
Penn districts as well as Marian High School. I had an extended subbing job
when I took the place of a Chemistry and Biology teacher at Marian High
School while she was on maternity leave. I teach at Sylvan Learning Center
on Grape Rd during the summers. This is my sixth year teaching Science at
St. Joseph Grade School.
My mission for this class is to help the students see how science is
connected to everything else in life. I want to show them how science
controls and governs how everything works and I want them to think of ways
to use science to make the world a better place to live. I also want them
to see how science points to the fact that there is a God.
I hope to stretch students minds throughout this year! It will be
challenging, but it will also be fun!
