Sixth Grade

Welcome to the third floor and to Jr. High Spanish! There are some changes to the Spanish program
when your son or daughter enters sixth grade. Although the sixth grade students still have Spanish just
once a week they will receive a letter grade this year. This means that he or she will be accountable for
assignments, quizzes, and tests. Since there is no text book in sixth grade it is very important for the
students to maintain an organized and complete binder. Your son/daughter should have a blue binder
and a blue spiral notebook for Spanish. The binder needs to have three dividers labelled handouts,
vocabulary, and graded work. I will occasionally check their binders to see that their work is neat, dated,
and in date order.

I will be offering Spanish tutoring beginning Tuesday, September 15 from 3:15-4:00 in room #36.
During this time I can answer questions, clarify material and reinforce vocabulary and grammar. Your
child is welcome to come weekly or on an as needed basis. Please encourage(remind) your child to
review vocabulary regularly, if not daily.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I enjoy working with or
sons/daughters and anticipate a successful year!
