First Grade Classroom News

Students have been immersed into the strategies that effectively promote good readers.  Students have 
learned to use their schema, make predictions, question, and decode words they do not already know 
when reading.  Throughout the month of November, students will learn to classify words: nouns, verbs, 
and adjectives, and continue to explore the 6+1 Writing Traits.  In math, students are developing and 
mastering their skills in basic math facts, time, and money.
