Sixth Grade: We are discovering all the details about who Abraham was and what God
brought to his life. What a great example of following God's will and putting all trust in
His hands.
Channeling God's Grace is our topic. We are finding ways we can do this as 6th graders. How do we
respond to others who channel His grace to us?
Isaac and Rebekah give us the twins Esau and Jacob. How Jacob ends up with the blessing is showing
how God is in all events in life. We see good can come from what we may think is an unfair decision.
Seventh Grade:
Mary Magdalen is certainly a good example of God allowing u-turns and giving all we
have for Jesus and his teachings.
Matthew's Gospel has so much to offer this age. Chapters 5 through 7 covers a multitude of lessons.
The students will make a poster representing one of the sections (pride, revenge, promises, prayer,
giving etc.).
Eighth Grade: The Council of Trent shows how hard all the bishops/Popes worked to bring our Church
to be One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic. This process took 18 years. The student see how important it is to
not give up, be persistent and success can be achieved. Many new Religious Orders (both men/women)
came from the counter-reformation.
