Name:
Mrs. Susan Jones-Gilbert
Grade:
4B
I have over 20 years of teaching experience here at Sts. Joan of Arc and
Patrick School and have taught a variety of grade levels. I love teaching and
creating fun learning experiences for children.
I earned my B.S. and M.S. degrees in elementary education from Indiana
University, where I graduated with high distinction. I am a licensed mentor
teacher for the state of Indiana. I have held numerous educational
leadership positions in both our school and our diocese.
I am the mother of two. My son is an Eagle scout and a sophomore at IUK. My
daughter is a freshman at University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne. My
husband, Chuck, passed away in 2009, after a 4-year battle with
cancer. My children and I are active members of St. Joan of Arc parish.
I enjoy learning new things and have a wide range of interests. I enjoy
collecting glass paperweights. Some of my hobbies include reading, china
painting, cooking, knitting, jewelry making, theatre, traveling, hiking, and
camping. I also enjoy supporting my children in their church, scout, and
school actitivies. During the summers, my children and I enjoy traveling
around the state of Indiana and creating "virtual field trips" of historic
sites to enhance my Indiana history lessons.
