S.T.A.R. Folders

What is a S.T.A.R.?

A STAR is a special yellow folder that your child will bring to and from

school everyday this year.

STAR is an acronym for Students Taking Academic Responsibility.

The STAR will help your child stay organized and keep communication open between home and school.

S.T.A.R. Rules:

Take care of your STAR; it will be used all year!

Clean out the "Classwork" every night and leave those pages at home.

Take your STAR home everyday and bring it back each morning signed by your parents.

Keep your STAR clean!!

Be responsible and show your STAR to your parents everyday .

S.T.A.R. Don'ts:

Don't make any marks or drawings in or on your STAR.

Don't leave your STAR at home, in the car, or at daycare.

Don't let anyone borrow your STAR or tear pages out of your STAR.

Don't put any papers in your STAR that do not belong.

Front Pocket of Folder:

Homework

In the front pocket of the folder you will find any information I need to send home to you such as our weekly newsletter, the Gotsche Gazette. Homework for the week will be on the back side on this. Homework should be completed at home during the week and returned to school by Friday morning.

Behavior Management Pages

Next you will find 36 weeks of Behavior Management pages. Your child will be marking on these pages where he/she ended up on the Behavior Management Clip Chart at the end of the day. Please look at this each day and sign or initial in the parent column. Feel free to send me a note here also.
2nd Grade Survival Guide

Next you will find the 2nd Grade Survival Guide. Please leave this in the STAR folder in case you need to find the answer to a question on how things are done in my classroom.

Back Pocket of Folder:

Classwork

In the back pocket you will find class work that your child has completed and is ready to be "left" at home. This pocket should be cleaned out each evening. Be sure to take the time to look at these papers with your child and praise him/her for a job well done
