Do I need to sign (or initial) my child's assignment calendar each night?
I would appreciate your cooperation on this all year long. By checking what is written in your child's planner, you will gain important information such as when tests are, what special events are scheduled at school, and what homework your child has for the evening. The planner is a great communication tool between home and school when used consistently.Back to Top

What is Accelerated Reader? Does my child need to be reading at home for A/R?
Accelerated Reader (A/R) is a computerized program that tests a child on their comprehension after reading a book. The books are leveled, and each child should stay within a specified reading level for best results. Points are awarded based on the number of correct answers given to the questions about the book. I set an individualized A/R goal for each child to make each 9-weeks. It is very important that your child get into the habit of reading at home. It is the single most important factor to improving in reading. Try to find the best time each evening for some silent (or outloud) reading that suits your family, and make it a priority to read EVERY day.Back to Top
