| Please listen to your child read the take home readers each night. The more
practice they have with reading, the more successful they will be. They get
so excited about these books and love to share them with you and "show off"
their ever-progressing reading skills. Also, ask your child questions about
their story such as, "Who are the characters in the story?" "Tell me
something they did." "What is the setting of the story or where did the
story happen?" "Did you have a favorite part of the story--what was it?"
This helps to build your child's comprehension skills.
Also, please review your child's study buddy with them. I have many more
sight words I can add. Let me know if you would like me to add more from
the Dolch word list.
