Does Mrs. Jenkins accept late work?

MISSING WORK: INCOMPLETE
Students with late or missing work will be encouraged to come in on
their own time to complete zero grades. Work not turned in when due
present and in class will be graded accordingly:

Turned in on due date, by 3:30: Deducted 10%
Turned in 1 day after due date, by 3:30: Deducted 20%
Turned in 2 days after due date, by 3:30: Deducted 30%
Turned in 3 days after due date, by 3:30: Deducted 40%
Turned in 4 days after due date, by 3:30: Deducted 50%

This amended policy works to encourage student responsibility while
also allowing students to complete assignments so that they can get
both the content and a portion of the grade that goes with the
assignment.

MISSING WORK: ABSENT

Students who missed school due to an absence will have three
days from missing World History to make up any assigned work.
If a student misses World History but is present at OHS that
day, they will be expected to check the 'What Did I Miss'
notebook and get work in ASAP. After the three-day grace period
for absences, the above schedule for penalty will apply.

What should I do if I missed class?

Mrs. Jenkins' classroom assignments and activities are updated in
the 'What Did I Miss?' notebook that is housed in the corner of the room near
the door.
If you miss class, you should reference the notebook for the
following:
-
1. A description of what we did that day
2. Any handouts or materials you missed
-
Additionally, you should check with a peer in class and Mrs. Jenkins
to ensure you have everything you need from the period missed.

If I missed class on the day of an assignment, when is it due?

Mrs. Jenkins' policy states that you have three days from the date
you return to school to complete and turn in any assignments missed
during an absence.
-
If possible, check with Mrs. J in advance to get assignments when you
know you'll be missing class. If you anticipate an extended absence for
some reason, please discuss the matter with Mrs. J.

Why did Mrs. Jenkins choose teaching as a career?

I have experienced immense opportunities throughout my lifetime and
they would never have been possible without the inspiration and urging of
educators I have encountered over the years.

These opportunities left me wanting to return the favor- to give back
to students even a little of the opportunity I was given both in and out
of the classroom.

YES! I sponsor The Renaissance Program at OHS. I enjoy working with our
student-driven Renaissance Council (all volunteers, check it out!)

Does Mrs. Jenkins add students on Facebook?

No. My policy is that you may make a friend request once you graduate
