| Mrs. Valentine…
Mrs. Valentine started her student teaching practicum this week, and will be
with us until spring break. It’s great to have two teachers in the room all
day long!
Fairy Tales…
We have been comparing and contrasting different fairy tales this week.
We have had many activities that relate to each fairy tale such as reading
maps, reading graphs, letter writing, addition and subtraction problems, and
patterning. We also found out that these stories usually have “villains” such
as the big bad wolf and may start with "Once upon a time..."
New AR Range…
Please monitor your child’s ability to read the books they are bringing
home. Obviously a level 2.1 is going to be easier to read than a level 2.9.
Their 3rd quarter AR logs have their new goal and suggested reading level
color codes.
Paper Towel Tubes…
We are going to be using the card board tubes from paper towels during
Wednesday’s math lesson. If you can help us out, please send one or more to
school by Wednesday.
We have been using one inch blocks, rulers, and tape measures to practice our
measuring skills this week. They seemed to really enjoy these math activities.
Book Order…
I’m sending home the January book order today. I also have attached an
information sheet if you would like to place an order online instead of
sending your order to school. Either way works for me.
