Language Arts

For the Week of: November 9-13

We have six new "tricky" sentences for dictation this week - the test will be
on Friday, November 13. The "tricky" parts include doubling last letters
before adding endings to words, commas(2), and a question mark.

Do you have the November Home Reading Calendar posted somewhere "visible"?

Pictures of some of our literacy station activities are posted on
the "Photos" link - take a look!

We are listening and responding to a new read-aloud book - The Tale of
Despereaux. Ask your child about some of the characters we've met so far and
how we have "connected" this fairy tale to the one about The Ugly Duckling.

We have read a textbook selection called "Eye Spy" (fiction) and will now
read a nonfiction selection about how our eyes work. We will also take a
unit test this week.

Writing will focus on Thanksgiving activities.
