Vocabulary/Spelling

Vocabulary students will be working on Unit 10. Spelling students will be
working on Unit 11. I have asked the students to take their books home every

Creative Writing
This week the fifth graders will write a closing for their compare-contrast
essay. They will also complete a Fluency Check and do Word Choice. By the
end of the week, they will be ready to either do an ink copy or type it.

A compare-contrast essay tells how two things are alike and how they are
different. When you compare, you explain how the subjects are similar. When
you contrast, you explain their differences.
