Señora Olea’s Rules of Spanish Class

1. Español/Spanish: During activities (games, songs, question of the day,
stories, etc.) we only speak Spanish. Chatting with friends during these
times distracts us and keeps us from soaking up the Spanish.

If we don’t understand something we can ask:
¿Qué quiere decir ___? What does ___ mean?
If we don't know or remember how to say something in Spanish:
¿Cómo se dice? How do you say…

2. Escuchen/Listen: We listen to each other and the teacher.

3. Ojos/Eyes: We keep our eyes on the teacher. We also keep our eyes on the
materials she shows us to give us clues to what we’re discussing.

4. Manos/Hands: We raise our hands to take turns answering questions. We
keep our hands to ourselves during circle time.

5. Respeto/Respect: We respect the teacher and other students. We are
especially respectful when others are struggling or make mistakes.

6. Valor/Courage: In Spanish class we are not afraid to try something new
and to make mistakes. The more we practice, the better we'll get!
