I grew up moving all over the state of Kansas. I've lived in Newton (where
I was born!), Dodge City, Spearville (where my brother was born!), Salina
(where I had my first Catholic school experience as a student!), Spring
Hill, Nickerson (where I graduated high school), Hays and now I've put down
roots here in Shawnee!
I graduated from Fort Hays State University(Go Tigers!) with my elementary
education degree in 1996.
Fourteen years ago I began my teacher career teaching 4th grade in the
little town of Ellis, KS. During this time I met my husband. We moved to
Kansas City and I began teaching 6th and 8th grade here at St. Joseph. When
given the oppertunity to teach second grade, I jumped at it and now they
can't kick me out! I love it! My husband and I have two beautiful children
named Anna and Lawrence who both attend St. Joe!

things to do: shopping for clothes, sewing, reading, scrapbooking, and
working on my computer!
book: Love Comes Softly and the Twilight saga (yes...I'm one of those
moms!!!)
children's books: Because I Love You and The Red Ranger Came Calling

pet: Siamese cats
flowers: pink roses, daisies, and lilacs
movies: Somewhere in Time, Rebel Without a Cause, the Twilight movies
sound: When kids go, "Ohhhhh!" when they finally get something they've been
trying to understand!!!
family history: Listening to my grandparents tell stories about when they
were growing up!
feeling: My husband making me laugh and laughing with me! and hugs!
words: When my kids say, "I love you Mommy!"
Learning new things!
Things I could REALLY do without:
dreary days without sun

poison ivy--got it for the first time last summer, never want it again!!!!
