My name is Mrs. Maggie Nowak. I am originally from Nebraska and am still
very much a Husker fan. My undergraduate studies were begun at the
University of Nebraska and completed at the University of Kansas. I have
been teaching for 31 years with my main subject being English. Twenty-six
of my years have been here at St. Joseph School.
I have completed my master's degree at Baker University and now am proud to
display my diploma.
I continue to take courses in literature, hoping to share some good books
with my students. I am a cat lover and share a household with my cat Romeo
along with my husband and two children. I love to travel,watch
football, read, hike, hang out by the pool, visit with friends and family and
go to restaurants.
My daughter is returning to KU to continue with
her college career. My son will be a sophomore this year at the University of
Arkansas. I will now have to divide my loyalties between the Huskers,
Jayhawks and Razorbacks. We are excited for this new
school year, hoping that it will be filled with great memories.
Religion and sharing my faith is as important to me as teaching Language
Arts. I hope that my actions in my classroom and at church speak volumes of
my faith to my students. How lucky we are to be able to talk about our
beliefs and to pray together.
