Grandmother Vowel & H BrothersOnce upon a time there was a sweet little grandmother named GRANDMOTHER VOWEL. Grandmother vowel lived on a farm and loved to have her five grandchildren come spend time with her. Grandchild A was still a baby. He enjoyed toddling out to the apple tree and staring at the yummy apples hanging there. Because he could not talk very well just yet, he would simply point upward and say, " /a/, /a/, /a/!" Grandchild E loved to play video games. Every every evening he would perch on the sofa with his handheld games and play to his heart's content. When dinner was ready Grandmother Vowel would call, "E, come eat dinner!" E was usually very close to reaching the very next level of his game and simply could not stop playing so he decided to ignore Grandmother Vowel. "E, I said come eat...NOW!" E decided he should at least pretend he was having trouble hearing Grandmother Vowel. He cupped his ear with his hand and said, "/e/, /e/,/e/?" Grandchild I always was a little wild. He liked to don an Indian head dress (Native American ceremonial dress) and head out to the pasture. There he would scoot behind a bush. When a cow came lumbering by he would jump out, shake his hands and yell, " /i/, /i/, /i/!" Grandchild O loved to cook. He especially loved to cook chocolate chip brownies with cherries on top. While the cookies were baking, Grandmother Vowel would sometimes ease open the oven door and that delicious aroma would fill the air. Grandchild O covered his tummy with his hand (rotate hand in an o shape) as he said, " /o/, /o/, /o/." Grandchild U was always willing to help Grandmother Vowel. Everyday he worked to help take care of things on the farm. He gathered the cows after Grandchild I frightened them away. He feed the chickens and gathered eggs. He was such a great helper that Grandmother Vowel decided to give him an allowance of ten dollars every week! That was great...but sadly, each week he walked to the little country store down the lane and spent all $10 on candy. He ate every bite of that candy before he got back to the farm. How his tummy did ache. Poor U covered his tummy with his hand, bent over and said, "/u/, /u/, /u/!! And THAT is the story of Grandmother Vowel and her grandchildren A, E, I, O, and U. :)
The H Brother Story Once upon a time there were four H brothers who all had interesting personalities. CH brother CHad loved trains. He has many small train sets. Everywhere CHad went you could hear him saying, "Ch-ch-ch-ch." SHelton was a sleepy-head. He loved to sleep. Anytime anyone was around SHelton other people would say, "Sh-sh-sh." WHitney wanted to whistle more than anything else in the world and yet he could not quite do it. He walked around going, "Wh-wh-wh-wh." THad was a little bit of a trouble maker. He always stuck his tongue out and his teacher! He said, "Th-th-th-th." |
