CORBIN INTERMEDIATE:

Currently @ CIS (Corbin Intermediate) we are studying some great novels!  


5th Grade:  The Indian in the Cupboard


6th Grade:   Chasing the Falconers  & Old Yeller

In these novels, we are:

-  learning new vocabulary words

-using post-its to predict what will happen next in the story

 - using context clues to figure out the meaning of unknown words

- using illustrations to convey what happened in the story

-using illustrations to convey the plot line & summarize

- using illustrations to help recall
 
- learning to spell vocab. words (i.e. via crosswords & word puzzles)

- learning how to construct a PLOT PYRAMID of events in the story

- Learning about the Protagonist & Antagonist in the story

- Characterization & Character Traits


- AND.... MUCH...MUCH.... MORE!!!!

   Welcome Back to CMS / CIS !!!!  I hope everyone had a terrific summer! It sure went by fast this year! Welcome to my Teacher Web Page! And Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year! I hope this is the best year ever for you!!!!!
