Ms. Charlotte Cunagin - Ms. Cunagin has been teaching art for 21 years and
thoroughly LOVES working with her students. She began her teaching career in
1984 at LaGrange Elementary in Oldham County - working with grade school
youngsters was a thrill!!! She then later moved to North Oldham Middle
School in 1996 when it first opened - and she thinks ourmiddle school
students are absolutely the best around!!!! Charlotte intends to retire at
the end of the 2007-2008 school year - and knows her final two years will be
a grand time for sure!!!!!
Ms. Sharron Holderfield -- Ms. Holderfield has been teaching for 31 years and
can hardly believe that it has been that long!!!! She began teaching in
Oklahoma as a reading specialist - then moved to Louisville in 1980. Her
first job in Oldham County was at Goshen Elementary in 1980 - then
she 'graduated' to middle school and began teaching at North Oldham Middle
School in 1996 with Ms. Cunagin when the school first opened. Sharron taught
language for 10 years at NOMS - and then began teaching Art in 2003 - and
literally found the 'icing on her cake'. She has an art background and has
always dreamed of teaching in this field - and now her dream has come true!!!!
She also plans on retiring at the end of the 2007-2008 school year - she and
Ms. Cunagin will GO OUT TOGETHER!!!!!!
Ms. Russo - Ms. Russo has just begun her teaching career in Oldham County
last year - so this is her second year at North Oldham Middle School.
Germaine has a background in the fine arts - ranging from floral design to
print making. She has even taught in a Montessori School in Michigan for
three years where she learned that she did indeed have a love for working
with students. Upon moving to KY, she worked towards obtaining her masters
degree and then joined our staff at North Oldham Middle School beginning in
the school year 2005-2006. Germaine is a great addition to our art
department and we are glad to have her on board!!!!
What do you think of when YOU think of ART???? Well, at North Oldham Middle
School that is exactly the first question that our students ponder and write
about. We strongly feel that art is more than just lines on paper - it is
truly all about the individual and their journey into and through THEIR art.
What is it to them? How does it make them feel? How can they be self-
expressive as they explore the various mediums of art? And as this
exploration continues, how can they experience self-actualization via the
arts - in other words, how do they personally connect with the enjoyment of
the arts?
Our goal is to leave our students experiencing and enjoying the arts as they
progress through their lifes' journeys.
