By now,music appreciation students should be searching for examples of music from different genres. The class chose other students in class to be part of a team that would divide @ 40 music genres between them. Each students should have 6-10 genres they may be looking for. Most student will use the internet to find samples and examples of different kinds of music. I personally encourage students to use the resource of parents family and friends to help them. It is not necessary for students to buy music from i-tunes to complete this project. The student then need to bring by CD, IPOD, TAPE, etc, the music to class so it can be checked and identified as correct . Then the student will allow someone in the group to copy all the music to a couple of cd disk. A typed list with the genre the name of the song and the artist is needed along with the cd for each group to get complete credit. The students also receive an individual grade by showing me their individually researched genres.
