Mr. Ray

Who: I would like for all NOMS band students to parcitipate in this event in at least an ensemble setting. All students will be rehearsing in a chamber ensemble setting with their sections throughout January and February during their A or B day classes. Since this is on a Saturday I relize there will be conflicts. I would hope that all students would want to attend. Please contact me immediately wtih conflicts so that we can try to find solutions. Any students who would like to perform an additional solo or small ensemble may do that as well.

Time: Times are scheduled every 6 minutes between 9am and 5pm. If you have a potential conflict you may request a specific 2 hour window for your event as long as it works with the others in your group. You should arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your scheduled performance time, find the room where you will be performing, and then find the warm up room.

Schedule:

Cost: The registration fee is $6 per student per evenet. There will be an additional $9.00 fee for students wishing to ride the bus. Please be advised that the bus will need to travel ahead of the first NOMS performance and stay until all students riding the bus have performed (2-3) hours. There will be music vendors and concessions to entertain the students while waiting. (Additional fees will apply for our 6th grade and 7th/8th grade percussion ensembles as a para-professional will be visiting the school regularly to work with the students to ensure success in this unique setting.

Transportations: Transportation to EOMS is the student's responsibility unless when you registered you indicated you would need to ride the bus and paid the extra bus fee. The bus will be leaving NOMS at exactly 10:30 and return around 4:30. If students who registered for the bus ride the bus to EOMS and then get picked up by THEIR (I will only release a bus rider to his/her parents for safety/liability reasons) parents, the parent must sign out the child with Mr. Ray to keep our head count accurate. If students who registered for the bus wish to meet us at EOMS and then ride home on the bus, they must get signed in by an adult in order to maintain an accurate head count.

Forms: Go to the "Forms for Download" page to the left to print the appropriate forms.

Attire: Band concert attire.

Bring: Your instrument and all needed accessories, THE ORIGINAL PUBLISHED PRINT OF YOUR MUSIC OR   BOOK FOR THE JUDGE (Mr. Ray will have these for the class ensembles), a photo copy of your music for you to use as you perform.

What to Expect: You will perform in a classroom for a single judge who is a specialist on your instrument. For Solos you may use piano accompaniment if you wish if the music calls for it. Friends and family may watch from inside the classroom if you wish. Scores will not be available until 30 minutes to an hour after your performance.

Directions: From NOMS turn on 42 going away from Louisville. Past Liberty Elementary turn right on 393. When it ends at Oldham Co. High School turn left. Almost immediately turn right toward I-71 where 393 continues. When 393 ends, turn left on 22. East Oldham is a few miles ahead on the left hand side of 22 next to Locust Grove Elementary.
