Hope this finds all of you enjoying a wonderful holiday season! At this point in the year, I'm
hearing a lot of "math" connections (i.e., "We only have six more school days until the break,
Mrs. Easton!" I have no doubt that I'll be hearing "Only five more days to go until the break!"
throughout the day tomorrow. If I didn't know better, I'd think that my students actually prefer
to be enjoying the holidays rather than coming to school - is that possible?!)
In terms of this final week prior to the holiday break, we will be quite busy. We will wrap up
our "Colonial America" unit and review for our mid-term assessment (which will be completed on
Wednesday/Thursday)on Monday/Tuesday. Please be aware that a copy of the study guide for this
assessment was provided to ALL students on Friday; if, however, the copies "disappear," then
please feel free to go to my "Colonial America" unit, and scroll down the list of documents
until you see the guide in the event that you need to view it or print out an additional copy.
The test will be multiple choice in format. ALSO - students have been informed that they may
bring in a small (3x5) index card with information/reminders to assist them with the mid-term.
This card MUST BE HANDWRITTEN, not typed, and may be filled out on BOTH sides. It will be
collected following the assessment.
As an eighth-grade team, we continue to be excited about our students' service projects, and we
appreciate your assistance to them as they complete them and continue working on their
reflections and projects. Remember to look on my home page if you need an additional copy of the
project information.
