This is my 6th year having the privledge to teach here at NOMS.  Prior to
teaching at NOMS, I climbed the proverbial corporate ladder at Pillsbury and
General Mills.  I "retired" early and worked with autistic children for a year
in Pennsylvania before we moved here, substitute taught in Oldham County
for two years, and earned my masters in education before starting teaching at NOMS.
Outside of the classroom at NOMS, I enjoy sponsoring the Beta Club and KYA/KUNA.

I was born in Washington State, raised in Blacksburg, Virginia(Go Hokies),
and earned my undergraduate degree at a small college in Northwestern
Minnesota(burr!). That is where I met my husband Scott; we have been married
for 24 years. After being corporate nomads and moving 9 times to various
cities around the United States, we are glad to now call Louisville our home.
We are proud to be the parents of two daughters. Gretchen is a senior at
UK - GO WILDCATS! and Charlotte is a senior right next door at NOHS.

I love to read (go figure), travel, garden, relax by the pool, and play a
round of golf now and then.  I am big UK fan and enjoy going to their home
football games - or basketball when we can get tickets.  It is an excuse to
see Gretchen six Saturdays in the fall as well as being lots of fun!  As a
former athlete(really!)and coach, I enjoy watching most sports. So, if you
have a game or match coming up, please let me know about it.  I'd love to
come see you play!  I also love the theater and music so you'll find me at
local Broadway musical productions and North choir events (My daughter
Charlotte sings).

I look forward to a great year in Language Workshop and to helping each
student to grow their skills, knowledge, and ability in reading
and writing.
