 What are the AR requirements for the 2nd Nine Weeks
1. Students will be required to read 3 books this 9 weeks. 2 of their choice 
and one autobiography or biography. 
2. Students willGRAP be required to complete 2 AR tests &) 2 Hooked on Books 
cards, as well as, one book project.
3. Students may choose to read a book that is over 250 pages. Such a book 
would count as 2 books and students would need to choose whether they wanted 
to complete an AR/H.O.B. card, or a book project.
4. All books must be at least 120 pages unless I have given the students 
approval for a smaller book.

 Important Geography Dates
1.  End of the 2nd nine week is January 16th
2.  Chapter 9 Retake is Friday morning, January 9th
3.  geoterm chapter 10 quiz for teal is Jan. 13th, for Black it is 1/12
4. Chapter 10 test for teal is January 20th, for black it is the 21st.
5.  First draft of immigration persuasive essay is due January 28th (teal) 
and January 29th (black)
6.  Latin America passport is due February 11th (teal) and February 12th 
(black)

 Chapter 9 test
retake is Friday morning January 9th. The test begins at 7:30.  Students will 
need to turn in a signed test before they are allowed to retake the test.  
Students receiving below a 69% are expected to retake the test, students 
scoring between a 70 and 79% are given the option to retake the test.  The 
highest retake grade will be an 80%

January 9th - All book projects & AR tests are due by the end of school on 
this Friday

January 12 - vocabulary #7 test
January 12 - new spelling list is due- WORDS MUST BE SPELLED CORRECTLY!
January 21 - Spelling test
January 23 - 2nd rough draft of personal  narrative due
