Pre-Algebra (November 30 - December 4)
This week we review Least Common Multiple and Least Common Denominator and
relate this to adding and subtracting fractions. Notes and examples on adding
and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators will be given during class
discussions this week. Refer to Sections 5-6 and 5-7 in the text book for
extra examples and help. A quiz will be given on Friday December 4th on
adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.
Accelerated Pre-Algebra (November 30 - December 4)
This week we will assess the student's understanding of the relationship
between fractions and decimals. We will convert between fractions and
decimals as well as compare and order fractions and decimals. The use of a
number line will be demonstrated to compare and order fractions and decimals.
A quiz will be given this Wednesday December 2 on order of operations with
fractions and real world examples with fractions. Another quiz will be given
on Friday to assess the student's knowledge of fractions and decimals.
NEXT TUESDAY A TEST WILL BE GIVEN ON THE REAL NUMBER SYSTEM UNIT. A STUDY
GUIDE WILL BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS THIS FRIDAY.
** RETAKE POLICY
Retakes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 7:30 -8:20 and Thursday
afternoons from 3:40 - 4:30
Parents will be notified when a retake is required on an assessment
