V for Vendetta Chapter Summaries

After you have read each section, write one page (have page prompt, half page
summary of what you have read) using the prompts from the 95 Reading
Responses worksheet. You may use one prompt from each of the sections on the
worksheet (Characters, setting, author, past, future, comparisons, art work,
drama, creative writing, etc.) You may also include any thoughts you have
while and after you have completed reading each section. Your 14 one page
responses will be due on Wednesday March 21. Do not wait until the last
minute to write your summaries! Write them as you finish reading each
section! Example- Section Book 1-Chapters 1-2=Prompt Characters #1. After you
use one under the Character section, you may not use another under that
section.

Independent Reading: Life Studies
Mrs. Overstreet-Third Trimester Due May _______

Overview
Whereas during first/second trimester you could read any kind of book
you wanted to investigate, this trimester we will specifically read
biographies, autobiographies, or memoirs that all have something in common.
Last year, for example, someone read three biographies of people who were
influential in the 1950s (James Dean, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe). Another
student, who loves music, read biographies or autobiographies by or about The
Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix.

This trimester we will choose three books that allow you to study the
lives of people you find interesting and think are important. These people
might be coaches, leaders in some field, historical figures, or people you
respect. My hope is that you will accept this invitation to learn more about
people you respect or find interesting and to learn from their lives some
lessons that you can apply to your own.
Requirement
This assignment asks each of you to:
	1. Read three books that fall into any of these
categories:
		• Autobiography
		• Biography
		• Memoir
		• Nonfiction book about a team or distinct
group of people (e.g., The Nine, by Jeffrey Toobin, about the Supreme Court
justices)
	• Choose books appropriate to your age and reading
level. Each book should be a full-length, well-written, serious book (as
opposed to a short fan biography).
