Organizational Description
St. MAM utilizes community resources to provide meaningful, innovative responses to the needs of
families and individuals. This includes assessing community needs, launching pilot programs,
coordinating emergency assistance, collaboration, recruiting and training volunteers, and
promoting joint endeavors to avoid duplication. The umbrella programs include Family Services,
Emergency Assistance, Child Development, and Central.
Opportunities for Involvement
Volunteers can become involved as: (1) St. MAM Board Members; (2) River City Housing Board
Members; (3) Family Mentors ("Friends In Action"); (4) Collecting Food for the Overflow Pantry;
(5) Holiday Program Assistance (Steinmart & Toys R Us "Giving Trees"; (6) "Baby Showers" for
collaborative with Infant Resource Center + Volunteers with IFP; (7) "Tortoise & Hare" 5k
Run/Walk Volunteer Assitance; (8) Office Assistance (clerical, computer, general); (9) Blood
Donors and Church Blood Drive Coordinators; (10) Child Development Center; (11) Cleaning; (12)
Facilitators (Families in Transition); (13) Presentations to Church Groups; (11) Grant Writers;
(14) Computer Consultants; (15) Solicitations for Auction/Banquet.
Client Bill of Rights
It is the policy of St. MAM that all individuals who are seeking and/or receiving services from
any of our programs will be provided with effective, efficient services.
1. To be treated with consideration and respect for human dignity.
2. To receive quality treatment regardless of race, religion, sex, age, ethnic background,
mental and/or physical disabling conditions, or ability to pay.
3. To be provided confidentiality and protection from unwarranted disclosure regarding services
received.
4. To expect continuity of care from one service to another, should a a client require another
service.
5. To use the grievance procedure of contacting the Executive Director if any rights have been
violated.
