  • We will finish the performance event on model of an atom on Thursday.
  • If you don't know the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons in your assigned atom, try to figure it out before then.
  • Use your book to help you understand how to do this.
  • Also know which particles (protons, electrons, neutrons) are positive, negative, or neutral and where each is located in the cell (nucleus or electron cloud).

  • Performance Event in class tomorrow on making a model of an atom. Directions will be given in class. You will be assigned an element. You will need to figure out how many protons, electrons, and neutrons are in the most common isotope. You also need to determine the atomic number and mass number. You need to know the electrical charge and location of the protons, neutrons, and electrons. You will be able to use a periodic table.
  • Test Thursday on elements #21 - 40. Know the names and symbols. There are two practice test on mygradebook.com. One of the symbols and another of the names. There are no corrections allowed. Spelling counts.

  • Get test signed and do corrections. Corrections are required for those who scored less than 75%; optional for others. You may only correct the true/false and multiple choice sections. Copy the entire question; highlight the correct answer; copy the proof from your textbook; copy the page number where you found the proof (or the date of the notes, if you used your notebook).

Top left section = definition of matter; bottom left section = examples of matter; top right section = examples of Physical and Chemical Properties of matter; bottom right section = nonexamples of matter; center = Matter.; Due tomorrow. All in marker or colored pencil.
  • Get your chapter test signed. Make corrections if you scored less than 75%. Others may make corrections, if desired. Question; answer highlighted; proof; page number. Corrections due by Thursday.
