Picture retakes are this Tuesday.
The RAK Club is sponsoring Hat and Jersey Day this Wednesday to raise money
for the Northshore High cheerleader who was injured in an accident with a
drunk driver. For $1.00, students may wear a hat or jersey to school. For
$2.00, they can wear both a hat and jersey. Uniform pants must be worn.
We are now halfway through the 2nd nine weeks. I am taking
formal grades in Reading, Spelling, Math, Language, Science and Social
Studies. Graded tests will be sent home weekly. Please go over the tests at
home and review any items that were missed. Sign and return any tests that
are stamped with a signature line.
We are beginning our third reading book. The stories are added to the
folder. Please listen to your child read the new story aloud nightly and
initial that you've heard it. Review previous stories to ensure vocabulary
is mastered.
This week's story is "Kate's Game". There will be a test Thursday on the
story and vocabulary words from this story. Please have your child use each
vocabulary word in an oral sentence. Each word should be read in 3 seconds
or less.
This week I will test the students on the vocabulary words from the second
reading book and highlight in the notebook any words that are missed. Please
go over these words at home.
Spelling words for this week are in the notebook and on my web site under
List3.
This week we are studying verbs. There will be a test on capitalizing days,
months, and holiday names.
