We are starting our 5th reading book. The new stories are in the folder.
This week's story is Olivia. I will test the students on Unit 4 vocabulary
words and highlight the words that were missed in the notebook. Please work
on these words nightly.
We are studying telling time to the hour and half hour. We are also studying
the calendar. Review addition and subtraction at home.
Please give your child a practice spelling test each Monday and work on any
words that are missed.
We continue studying weather and the water cycle this week.
Tuesday, February 14th we will have a valentine exchange.
Wednesday, February 15th, Abney's 1st graders will have their annual Mardi
Gras parade at 1:30. Please send in any throws you are donating by Tuesday.
Graded tests will be sent home weekly. Please review any items that were
missed with your child.
We have a student teacher from UNO this semester. Her name is Ms. Barnes.
She is teaching math and language this week.
The RAK Club's troop and penny drives continue this week. Please consider
contributing if you can.
There is no school from February 20th-February 24th. Happy Mardi Gras!
