| Parents,
I wanted to take a few minutes to say a special thanks to the many of you
who recently attended and supported the Abney Family Fall Festival and Fun
Run. The event was a huge success for our school. Not only was it a great
fund raiser for the school, but it was an opportunity for our school to
build on our very positive school community. Everyone who attended the fair
had a good time with the many fun things to do including the games,
entertainment, and food. Over 3,000 people attended our fair which far
surpassed our expectations. A very special thanks to our PTA who did an
outstanding join of organizing and putting on the event. The faculty of our
school also deserves a lot of credit as the majority of them either
participated in the planning of the event, or helped on fair day. We have a
great learning community at our school and it really showed at the fair. In
the front of Abney are four banners that proclaim the school to have great
students, parents, and teachers and this proclamation was so evident with
the amount of school spirit at our fair. Abney is a great elementary
serving over 900 students and the faculty and staff along with the help of
our parents will continue to make the school a safe and nurturing learning
environment. Again, I thank our parents for their support of our fair and
more importantly continued support of our school.
